April 2022 – New Exhibitions
3 new Exhibitions at Falmouth Art Gallery
POLPERRO
Cornwall’s Forgotten Art Centre
2 April – 18 June

If you visit Polperro today, you might be completely unaware of its artistic heritage. Described as “the haunt of half the artists of Britain”. Polperro was considered one of Cornwall’s leading art centres during the late 19th and 20th centuries. This will be the first exhibition devoted to Polperro artists.
Curated by David Tovey
Blake + 7
Pop Art from Falmouth Art Gallery Collection

Cornwall plays a small but significant role in the Pop Art movement. This new exhibition reflects on Cornwall’s part in the movement. Trainee Curator Emily Spargo has curated works of Pop Art by Sir Peter Blake and seven other artists from Falmouth Art Gallery’s collection.
