Blackout Poetry-Make&Take Adults

Which of us has never tried, in their life, to experiment with words and little poems to express feelings and emotions that could not otherwise be expressed? Sometimes this is a tricky process though, as the blank page looks scary and daunting, often making us giving up. Black out poetry can help to overcome this obstacle and free ourselves from inhibitions. The world is full of hidden poetry that awaits to be discovered. Blackout poetry (also known as Caviardage) is a creative method of deep personal exploration through a process of creation (or unveiling) of a visual and poetical message.

MATERIAL NEEDED:
 A random Page from an old book ready to go into recycling
 A pencil
 A black marker or white paint
 Several media of your choice (coloured pencils, crayons, watercol-ours or paint, pastels…)

MAKE&TAKE ADULTS are creative workshop for adults, free and open to everybody. Every week there is a new activity and craft to explore. They are a great opportunity for people to practise creativity for the promotion of well-being: participants are invited to ‘play’ with materials without feeling the pressure of achieving something perfect. The sessions also offer the chance to socialise in a very friendly, supportive and relaxed atmosphere. Due to social distancing, the group is currently unable to meet, so we are offering simple tutorials for the weekly workshop, readjusting the original activity with materials and resources that people can easily find at home.
